Permanent or long-term status
Permanent residence (karta stałego pobytu), EU long-term resident permit, refugee status, subsidiary protection, humanitarian or tolerated stay.
We check your right to a sole proprietorship, register it in CEIDG and set up ZUS, tax and bookkeeping
We register a JDG (jednoosobowa działalność gospodarcza, the Polish sole proprietorship) for foreigners who are allowed to have one. Before anything is filed, we check your residence status against art. 4 of the Act on foreign entrepreneurs: a temporary residence and work permit or a visa does not give that right, while permanent residence, EU long-term resident status, a Karta Polaka, a CUKR card and permits for studies, a Blue Card or family reunification do. Then we choose PKD codes and the tax form, file the CEIDG application and set up ZUS. Turnkey from 1,500 PLN. How a JDG works in general is explained in our JDG guide on the blog.
Non-EU citizens may run a JDG on the same terms as Poles only with one of the statuses in art. 4 ust. 2 of the 2018 Act on foreign entrepreneurs. Without one, the option is a sp. z o.o.
Permanent residence (karta stałego pobytu), EU long-term resident permit, refugee status, subsidiary protection, humanitarian or tolerated stay.
Temporary residence for studies (art. 144), research (art. 151), the EU Blue Card (art. 127), family reunification (art. 159), and a temporary permit held as the spouse of a Polish citizen living in Poland.
A valid Karta Polaka gives the right to a JDG regardless of the residence permit you hold.
Temporary protection, and a CUKR card, which the special act on Ukrainian citizens (art. 42w) puts on the same footing as Poles for running a business.
A temporary residence permit for business granted to continue a JDG already entered in CEIDG. You cannot reach a JDG this way from a work permit: the JDG has to exist first, on another status.
A temporary residence and work permit, a national visa D or a Schengen visa, and visa-free stay do not give the right to a JDG. In these cases we can register a sp. z o.o. instead.
Usually 3-5 working days from the moment we have your documents and PESEL.
We read your residence decision, not only the card, and confirm which line of art. 4 ust. 2 covers you. If none does, we tell you before you pay for the opening.
We match PKD codes to what you will actually sell and compare skala (12/32%), liniowy (19%), ryczałt and, for software, IP Box on your expected income.
Filed online with your Profil Zaufany or qualified e-signature, or by us under a power of attorney. The same form registers you for NIP, REGON and ZUS.
ZUS registration for health insurance with Ulga na start, or for full contributions if the relief is not available to you.
VAT exemption up to 240,000 PLN of sales a year, or VAT-R registration when you need it, including VAT-UE registration for services to companies in other EU countries.
Monthly bookkeeping from 700 PLN: income ledger, ZUS returns and, for VAT payers, the JPK_V7 file by the 25th of the following month.
The PESEL is required by law for a foreigner's CEIDG entry.
Registration in CEIDG is free. You pay for the work around it.
* The final price depends on your status and business and is confirmed in writing before work starts. Not included: ZUS contributions (in 2026 health insurance from 432.54 PLN a month on skala or liniowy, from 498.35 PLN on ryczałt; social contributions about 456 PLN on preferential ZUS and about 1,927 PLN at the full rate) and tax.
From 1,500 PLN for the full opening: status check, PKD codes, tax form, CEIDG filing, ZUS and the VAT decision. The state registration itself is free. Monthly bookkeeping is from 700 PLN. The exact price is confirmed in writing before we start.
Send us your residence decision: we confirm whether you can open a JDG and what it will cost, then register it in 3-5 working days.
