Sworn translations in Warsaw

Because a US notary is not a sworn translator under Polish law. The notary in the States only confirms the translator signed in front of them - they don't verify the translation itself. Polish urzędy, USC, and sądy only accept work from a translator on the MoJ register, stamped and entered in their repertorium. Doesn't matter how good the US translation is. We redo it from scratch.

Depends on the urząd dzielnicy and what you're filing. For USC transkrypcja, Ochota and Mokotów usually want a sworn Polish translation even with the apostille. Wola and Praga Południe sometimes wave it through. For ZUS or NFZ filings it's almost always required. Cheapest move is to call us with the document and target office and we check the same day.

Per document, not per page. We look at the scan, the language pair and the length and reply with a fixed price and a delivery date. A US birth certificate and a diploma with transcript are very different jobs, so there is no single rate to publish - send the scan and you get a number, not a range.

Yes. A tłumacz przysięgły is also authorised to interpret live as tłumacz na rozprawie. We book the same person for the document work and the hearing whenever the schedule allows. Continuity helps - they already know the terminology and the names. Court interpretation is billed hourly, not per page.

Apostille goes on the original document, issued by the source country. The sworn translator then translates the original together with the apostille and binds the translation to the apostilled original. If the receiving institution wants an apostille on the translation itself (rare but it happens), we add a second one at MSZ on Krucza after the translation is done.

Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch - fewer sworn translators in Warsaw, so these take longer than English or German. We give the date together with the price once we see the scan, and say whether rush is possible for that language.
